Hello and Welcome to the Purple Poppy Wellness website!

Located just 22 miles outside of Glasgow in my hometown of Beith, I am an HND qualified mobile therapist, with clients in various locations between Glasgow and Ayrshire.

In the beginning Purple Poppy Wellness was a way for me to share my passion for Aromatherapy and Natural Skincare but since 2016 it has become so much more. Over the last 5 years my business has evolved to include:

– A variety of hands on therapies

– 1:1 advice around stress management and wellness

-Group wellness workshops (both online and in-person)

– Weekend retreats on Arran

– Home fitness and nutrition programmes.

Throughout the pandemic these services have had to adapt and change to meet the most up to date guidelines, with the safety of my customers being of the utmost importance.

At the end of 2021 I made the decision to embark upon a BSc (Hons) in Integrative Healthcare. Semester 1 looked at the role of CAM therapies in the treatment of depression and anxiety, Comparative therapeutic practices (delving deeper into Traditional Chinese Medicine and diagnostic methods), and Critical thinking in management. Intense and interesting, I can’t wait to see what 2022 and Semester 2 has in store.

Between family life, running my own business and full-time studies, my website updates have taken a bit of a back seat, but rest assured I am still here, helping people with their health and wellness. Please feel free to ask questions or leave me feedback on anything that you see on these pages, feedback on services is always appreciated. If you want to ask me something directly then please head to the Contact Us section and drop me a message.

Thanks for visiting, Gillian.

My Mother was always my biggest supporter, encouraging me to continue on this path and share “my gifts” with other people.  So when it came time to pick and name I chose the Poppy, her favourite flower.  Living in London for almost 8 years made me quite patriotic so I also wanted to include the Thistle.  I began drawing sketches of a logo, wanting to put my heart and soul into this venture I surrounded the words in a heart.  I gave this rough sketch to my good friend (Amar Ingreji) and with some of his editorial talent the Purple Poppy Scotland logo was born.

Not to be confused with the fantastic animal charity Purple Poppy, which raises money for animals injured during times of war.

In 2020, while the world was in lockdown, my business evolved and grew to offer a wider range of Wellness solutions. Purple Poppy Wellness felt like a more appropriate name.
